How to remember the 60 times table
- Every answer is the 6 times table with a 0 on the end: 60 × 3 = 180, because 6 × 3 = 18.
- 60 is 4 × 15, so double the 15 times table twice: 15 × 4 = 60, then 60 × 2 = 120, then 120 × 2 = 240. So 60 × 4 = 240.
- Start from 60 × 10 = 600: take 60 away for 60 × 9 = 540, or add it for 60 × 11 = 660.
Patterns in the 60 times table
- Each answer is 60 more than the one before: 60, 120, 180, 240, 300 and so on.
- Every answer ends in 0.
- Every answer is even, because an even number times anything is even.
- Keep adding the digits of any answer and you always reach 3, 6 or 9.
