How to remember the 49 times table
- Split 49 into 40 and 9: 49 × 7 = 40 × 7 + 9 × 7 = 280 + 63 = 343.
- 49 is 50 − 1, so multiply by 50 and take one lot away: 49 × 9 = 50 × 9 − 9 = 450 − 9 = 441.
