How to remember the 80 times table
- Every answer is the 8 times table with a 0 on the end: 80 × 3 = 240, because 8 × 3 = 24.
- 80 is 4 × 20, so double the 20 times table twice: 20 × 4 = 80, then 80 × 2 = 160, then 160 × 2 = 320. So 80 × 4 = 320.
- Start from 80 × 10 = 800: take 80 away for 80 × 9 = 720, or add it for 80 × 11 = 880.
Patterns in the 80 times table
- Each answer is 80 more than the one before: 80, 160, 240, 320, 400 and so on.
- Every answer ends in 0.
- Every answer is even, because an even number times anything is even.
- 80 × 80 = 6,400 is a square number: 80 rows of 80.
