How to remember the 37 times table
- Split 37 into 30 and 7: 37 × 7 = 30 × 7 + 7 × 7 = 210 + 49 = 259.
- 37 is 40 − 3, so multiply by 40 and take 3 lots away: 37 × 6 = 40 × 6 − 3 × 6 = 240 − 18 = 222.
- 37 is a prime number: it isn’t in any times table except 1 and 37, so splitting it into tens and ones is the quickest way to work out its facts.
- Look out for 37 × 3 = 111: every digit of the answer is the same.
