The facts to learn

Children who know the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables already have 6 × 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10, because 6 × 10 = 10 × 6. That leaves 5 new facts:

  • 6 × 6 = 36
  • 6 × 7 = 42
  • 6 × 9 = 54
  • 6 × 11 = 66
  • 6 × 12 = 72

A trick for the 6 times table

Take 5 times and add one more: 6 × 7 = 35 + 7 = 42.

How to play
