How to remember the 28 times table
- Split 28 into 20 and 8: 28 × 6 = 20 × 6 + 8 × 6 = 120 + 48 = 168.
- 28 is 30 − 2, so multiply by 30 and take 2 lots away: 28 × 8 = 30 × 8 − 2 × 8 = 240 − 16 = 224.
- 28 is 4 × 7, so double the 7 times table twice: 7 × 9 = 63, then 63 × 2 = 126, then 126 × 2 = 252. So 28 × 9 = 252.
