How to remember the 29 times table
- Split 29 into 20 and 9: 29 × 7 = 20 × 7 + 9 × 7 = 140 + 63 = 203.
- 29 is 30 − 1, so multiply by 30 and take one lot away: 29 × 9 = 30 × 9 − 9 = 270 − 9 = 261.
- 29 is a prime number: it isn’t in any times table except 1 and 29, so splitting it into tens and ones is the quickest way to work out its facts.
- Look out for 29 × 8 = 232: the answer reads the same forwards and backwards.
